Our method

We spend a lot of time hunting for pieces that are truly reflective of the rustic and classic ideals of South England’s craft industry. Once a piece has been discovered, we bring it back to our workshop and, using traditional various woodworking techniques, start the process of restoring it back to its former condition, but with the benefit of modern methods.

Restoration, Renovation & Repair, Finishing

We begin by applying a generous amount of elbow grease by sanding surfaces (back to bare wood if required) to reveal the natural glory of the piece and pave the way for its makeover.

We then assess any damage and go about renovating the piece using original fixtures and fittings where possible. This can include replacing beading, re-carving of missing areas and repairing loose joints. We also provide upholstery services for chairs and stools that have been damaged.

The final touch is to choose a finish that is reflective of the furniture’s personality while giving it a touch of the modern. We use stains and waxes to breath life into the wood and apply paints from our carefully chosen range of Fusion Mineral and Wise Owl paints. We can also apply paint chosen by you for that extra personal touch. All of the paints and treatments we use are environmentally friendly and free of harmful contaminants.
